The Kenyan village of Watamu beholds coconut palms, soft white sand beaches, turquoise pure waters, coral gardens and tiny paradise islands. Watamu is a Marine National Park offering a pristine snorkelling and diving experience with manta rays, turtles and gentle whale sharks. The region is habitat to abundant forest, wildlife, elephants, birds and butterflies.

This paradise place is spiced with Kenyan, Arab and Italian culture. The delightful village features quaint Kenyan dukas and the ancient Gede Ruins, a mysterious 13th century Swahili village is nearby.

Palm Garden Boutique Hotel is our serene sanctuary for the week - a tranquil, garden-filled hideaway in the heart of Watamu, just a short walk from the Indian Ocean. Set among lush palms and flowering tropical plants, this boutique venue offers elegant, peaceful spaces to rest and reconnect. The hotel features individually designed en-suite rooms with a fresh, coastal feel - simple, beautiful, and infused with nature. Quiet verandas, shaded nooks, and a serene pool invite deep rest between yoga practices. It’s a space that naturally supports renewal and soulful presence.

Each day begins with a sunrise meditation and soulful vinyasa flow in the most beautiful of surroundings. Serenaded by birdsong and kissed by ocean breezes, we’ll flow through creative sequencing and elemental-inspired Vinyasa and Dharma Yoga. These practices cultivate connection, vitality, and inner clarity. In the afternoons, we’ll soften into stillness with introspective Yin Yoga and meditation - offering your whole being a space to settle, soothe, and realign.

From sunrise to sunset, immerse yourself in the rhythms of coastal paradise. Swim in the saltwater pool, rest in the shade of palm trees, read on your private terrace, or indulge in a healing massage. The beach is a short walk away, inviting barefoot wanders, ocean dips, and golden-hour magic.

Our meals are a highlight of the retreat—fresh, vibrant, and lovingly prepared. Inspired by Swahili, Indian, and Mediterranean flavours, the cuisine is full of colour and life force. Expect nourishing breakfasts, creative vegetarian dishes, and delicious juices and smoothies made with ingredients sourced from local markets and the hotel’s organic garden.

In your free time, snorkel through coral gardens, kayak the winding mangroves of Mida Creek, or take a sunset dhow cruise across still waters. Visit the ancient Gede Ruins or explore the village’s colourful markets and artisan crafts. For those drawn to the wild heart of Africa, Tsavo National Park is just a few hours away and offers an unforgettable pre- or post-retreat safari adventure.
